No, the exit device may be installed without the steel pull and cylinder.

The exit devices are UL305 compliant but are not fire rated because they come with a dogging feature.

The Universal door knobs and levers may only be installed on double doors that have a door stile between each door. The stile must have area for strike plate installation and 3/4" deep latch hole.
